Apply the ideal gas law in this form: $p = \rho RT$ to relate pressure, density, and temperature of a gas.

Rationale

  • In many applications (e.g. flight, drag force calcs, flow in hvac ducts, ..) , density and kinematic viscosity need to be calculated with the ideal gas law.

  1. Explain the meaning of each term in the ideal gas law.
  2. Explain how to covert temperature in deg-C or deg-F to absolute temperature.
  3. Explain how to convert gage or vacuum pressure to absolute pressure.
  4. Explain how to find value of the gas constant in traditional and SI unit.
